““The team at Churchill Forge put on a demonstration for my extended family’s holiday. The water wheels were thrilling, as always. We often see remnants of wheel works when we’re on our walks but it takes a lot of effort to keep one up and running… It is interesting to hear and see how tools are actually made too…The refreshments break and conversation were a perfect way to end our visit. Thanks to you all””
Refreshments
A range of hot & cold drinks and snacks are available at our pop-up café including lunch baps and delicious cakes, all to enjoy whilst relaxing and taking in the unique atmosphere of the forge.
Private Tours
Group Visits and Presentations
Outside of our public open days, we also welcome private group bookings by arrangement, and also give talks to clubs and societies on the history and restoration of the forge.
Private tours cost £80 for up to 10 people with further places at an additional £8 a head. Discounts are available for schools and educational establishments. When arranging a tour, why not make a morning or afternoon of it, and allow us to put on a spread from teas and coffees, to light cold buffets.
For further details please phone Bryony Hayward on 01562 700572 or on 07881 587786 or email her at admin@churchillforge.org.uk (or via our Facebook page).
Accessibility
We have basic toilet facilities accessible from the top pathway.
IMPORTANT: Access to the main areas of the Forge is by a flight of steep steps and the floors of the working area are uneven. We regret that disabled access is therefore very limited.
The Parking area is off Churchill Lane, opposite to the entrance to the drive leading to the forge. It is clearly signposted on open days. Please do not bring your car down the drive to the forge as it is privately owned and we have no right to vehicle access.
